ABOUT
About Hailey:
Hailey Angel Allard was a 20 year old nursing student at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Shortly after completing her sophomore year and celebrating her 20th birthday, she tragically passed away in a car accident on August 10, 2018.
Hailey was a ray of sunshine who touched so many lives in her short amount of time, leaving behind hundreds of loved ones. She is remembered for her kindness, compassion, and determination in her lifetime. She was a hard-working student and individual. While being a full time nursing student, she was employed as a dietary aid at Charlton Hospital of Fall River, Massachusetts and as a Resident Assistant for the Housing and Residential Department at UMass Dartmouth.
Hailey’s dream was to be a pediatric oncology nurse, dedicating her career to helping children with cancer. Although her life and dreams were cut short, may her legacy live on forever.
About the Scholarship:
Not long after Hailey’s passing, close family and friends were eager to make a positive impact on her behalf. As a way to keep her memory alive, a nursing scholarship was dedicated in her honor. Hailey wanted to make a difference in the world and building a scholarship for students would be able to make that happen.
The Hailey Angel Allard Nursing Scholarship began as an idea and quickly blossomed into reality. Currently, the scholarship benefits nursing students, like Hailey, at UMass Dartmouth. In order to raise the funds for the scholarship, an annual Race to Remember 5k color run was created by the scholarship committee. It was a great way for family, friends, and the community to get involved in representing Hailey’s dreams and legacy.
We look forward to seeing you at the 2nd annual
Hailey Angel Allard Race to Remember.
